Ellen Moeller

Mezzo-Soprano

Ellen Moeller was born and raised in Chicago. She earned her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from DePaul University, where she studied with Theresa Brancaccio. Roles included Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas, and Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro. Ellen spent a summer in Urbania, Italy, studying the roles of Rosina and Angiolina with Maestro Carlo Morganti of the Pesaro Rossini Festival. She made her professional debut as Cherubino in L’Opera Piccola’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro. She moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1998 and completed her DMA in Voice Performance and Pedagogy, where she was a student of Julie Simson. While at CU, she reprised Orlofsky and sang the role of Penelope (Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria). She also sang Ravel’s Sheherazade with the CU Symphony Orchestra.

An ultrarunner, Ellen enjoys an active lifestyle in Boulder while maintaining bases in New York and California.
